  • To acquaint the students with the basic historical concepts and theories with a view to understand various social, cultural economic and political institutions and processes.
  • To understand dynamics of change, social stratification, address problems and learn to manage conflicts.
  • To impart in- depth analytical knowledge of history based on critical comprehension of change variables.
  • To enable students understand basic nuances of research in social sciences.
  • To critically analyze the factors that brought about a change in the past.
  • State the subject knowledge of History and historical trends in past to understand the future.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, appreciation and application of historical research methods and techniques.
  • Apply, analyze, differentiate and critique theories of history, select approaches to development and assess impact.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills and ingenuity in communicating with a wide range of audiences.
