Amity Institute for Sanskrit Studies and Research in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, Lucknow organized a one-day National Conference - Sanskrit Samwad – 2019 on the theme: ‘Employment Opportunities for Sanskrit Graduates’ at Amity University, Noida campus.
Students, faculties and guests from the field of Sanskrit literature and culture participated in the event. Professor Girish Chandra Pant, Head, Department of Sanskrit, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi was invited as the chief guest on the occasion.
Professor Girish Chandra Pant apprised the audience about the various employment opportunities that were available in the field of Sanskrit. He firmly stated that a Sanskrit Scholar can never starve of poverty provided he takes the language with due seriousness. He apprised that in fields like astrology, yoga, Ayurveda and religious propagation there are ample employment opportunities for Sanskrit Scholars.
Professor Girish Nath Jha, School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, JNU, New Delhi said that Sanskrit is the richest language in the world. With the help of a presentation he also guided the students about the various field in which they could apply their knowledge of Sanskrit.
Dr. Baldevnand Sagar, General Secretory, Indian Confederation of Sanskrit journalists and Professor Dipti Tripathi, Former Director, National Mission for Manuscript, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, New Delhi were bestowed with the Sanskritopasak Samman on the occasion.
During the conference, a Kathak dance with Sanskrit lyrics, a Shlok Recitation Competition and and a Sanskrit lecture competition was also held.
