Three-day International Workshop on Pharmaceutical Modeling and Simulation (PUMAS) Organized at Amity University

Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP) organized a three-day International Workshop on, “Pharmaceutical Modeling and Simulation (PUMAS)” in collaboration with Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (SSX), India and University of Maryland, USA from 27 to 29 February 2020 at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus.

The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Vijay Ivaturi, University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, USA and Dr. Surulivel Rajan M, MCOPS, Manipal Academy of Higher, Education, India along with Dr. Tanveer Naved, Dr. GT Kulkarni, Dr. Arti R Takkar and Mr. Nitesh Chauhan.

Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (SSX), India and University of Maryland, USA is one of the premium Institutions of the world. The workshop was organized a part of a series of workshops that were organized in other three Centres (ACTREC - Mumbai, MSRUAS - Bangalore and NIPER – Hyderabad) during the month of February 2020.

The workshop was instrumental in upgrading the scientific knowledge and give new insights in research related to Pharmaceutical Modeling and Simulation. It also served the purpose of familiarizing the participants with the basics of Pharmacokinetics Studies and Drug Metabolism and concepts of Pharmaceutical modelling and simulation.

The workshop also provided the understanding of utilizing modeling and simulation in the process of drug discovery and development and to make participants competent enough to use PUMAS software for PBPK modeling; Clinical Trial simulation; IVIVC and PKPD aspects. As simulation and modeling is new scientific approach in Pharmaceutical Field so that the students/faculty can excel themselves amongst others and can have better publications and projects.
