AMITY YOUTH FORUM ONLINE -2020

 COVID-19 has changed the ways of providing education at all levels. It has not only posed a challenge for adults but also for young children who should be actively engaged in learning process. In order to engage the young brigade of our society, Amity Youth Forum was extended for the participation of school children where they can showcase their talent and can move forward with it. Keeping this aim in mind, AIBAS conducted a poster competition on the theme-E-learning on 19th June, 2020. This competition was an attempt to bring the young children of the society to present their views on ongoing e-learning in graphical form. Children from all over the world participated in the event which made this event a grand success. The event was judged by eminent personalities from schools; Mrs Meher Afsan (Vice Principal, Greater Noida World School) and Mrs Bindu Udai Kumar (Aluminus and PGT in Kendra Vidhyalaya Sangathan).

The event was organized on MS Teams and was attended by HOI, Dr. Harish Kumar, all faculty members and students of AIBAS. The total number of registrations was 90 including Indian (Srinagar, Mangalore, Haryana etc.) and Foreign students (USA, Dubai etc.). whereas including the internal faculty and Jury,121 participants witnessed the event. Poster and their performance was evaluated based on their relevance with the theme and presentation of the content at two stages, 39 posters were selected in first stage and finally 24 posters were shortlisted for presentation. The focus of posters presented by students was on the advantages, disadvantages, limitations, impact and the integration of the electronic learning with the education during this pandemic. They also tried to bring out a clear practical picture of e-learning in terms of expectations and reality.

The posters were evaluated on the basis of content, organization, relevance, use of graphics, layout, design and attractiveness. Winner of the event was Gayatri Taneja (Greater Noida World School) followed by Satwik Karanth (Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Mangalore) at second

position and Geethika Radhakrishanan (The Indian High School, Dubai) and Anushree (Trumbull High School, USA) together at third position.

The event judges were mesmerized by the creativity and critical analysis of e-learning by young children. They also shared their views and experiences of e-learning and suggested some measures to utilize this e-learning at its fullest. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. T. Beena and Dr. R. Raina. Student coordinators of the event, Ms. Sakshi and Ms. Christy also presented their views in terms of their learning of organizing an online event.
