72nd Republic Day Celebrated at Amity University

 Reminiscing the glorious journey of the nation and adoption of the Constitution in 1950, the 72nd Republic Day was celebrated at Amity University with great fervour. Unfurling the tricolour, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh saluted the National flag and shared how the day is celebrated with national spirit and like a festival all over the country. Decorated in the tricolour hues, the campus of AUUP presented vivid images of the national celebrations.  

 
Dr. Shukla stated that our Constitution reflects a liberal democracy which has given equal rights to all. She shared said that the vision of our ancestors who liberated the country and implemented the Constitution has given us a country having unity in diversity. She added that Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President of Amity Education Group and Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor,  Amity University, have always stressed on the fact that through research, teaching and self-sufficiency, our nation will establish new dimensions of development. And this is the reason why Amity focuses on the overall development of its students.  
 
She further averred that students are provided with excellent teaching with sanskaras & values so that they can contribute to the building of society and the nation. The Vice-Chancellor said that every member of the Amity family is working to make the nation a great knowledge superpower and fulfil the vision of its founder president. Dr. Shukla shared the mantra with students, teachers, and officers to consider the nation before themselves.  
 
Dr. D. K. Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law School, Dr. Kalpana Sharma, Director, Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Prof. R.K. Dargan of Amity School of Communication, staff members and teachers were present on the occasion. In addition, the students participated in many programmes in the virtual medium.  
 

In a build-up to the Republic Day celebrations students of Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Sciences organized a virtual programme. Chief guest Brig Tarun Madan in his address encouraged everyone to become dedicated, concerned, and responsible citizens. He referred to the youth as the harbingers of change and motivated the listeners to strive hard and work diligently towards creating a progressive and peaceful society. A skit was showcased that conveyed the significance and some important facts and information about the Indian Republic Day. This was followed by a short play that depicted the making of the Indian constitution and the challenges and obstacles faced during the process.
