Amity celebrates 400th Birth Anniversary Year of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with great fervour

 Amity University Celebrated 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with great enthusiasm by conducting a series of webinars and lectures. During the celebration, Amity Institute of Molecular Medicine and Stem Cell Research organized a webinar in which Dr. (Mrs.) Bhagwant Kaur, Professor, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College (DU) delivered a lecture.   

 

 

Dr. Bhagwant Kaur while addressing said  ‘400th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru of Sikhs, sacrificed his life and that of his family to protect the religious values??and gave the world message of love and brotherhood’. She also remarked that the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur has been ideal who has guided all of us and will continue to be so. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's childhood name was Tyagamal, which was in accordance with the quality of his renunciation. At the age of just 14, he showed his valor by fighting a war against the attack of the Mughals. Dr. Kaur said that no family has made such a big sacrifice and our future generations should know Guruji's sacrifice and follow the path shown by him. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji also inspired people to become free from drugs, serve the public, and conserve water and coney these messages in the country. He strongly opposed conversion of Kashmiri Pandits into Muslims and sacrificed his life preaching the same. Dr. Kaur said that Guru Govind ji has written in the "Bichitra Natak" about the unique sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadurji and thereafter esblished the Khalsa.  

 

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla said this kind of webinar has been organized to provide information to the students regarding the sacrifice and contribution of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. “All of us should take inspiration from the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, how he gave up everything to protect humanity, culture, and values. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji always gave the message of not doing injustice to anyone” said Dr Shukla 

 

Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice-Chancellor, Amity while addressing the participants said understanding and knowing history is necessary for self-development. In our country, many times there have been attacks from outside countries, but we are successful in saving our culture and values. The sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji has inspired us to protect our culture, religion, and values ??with courage.  

 

During the celebration, Amity Institute of Education organized a virtual skit on the life journey of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in wherein  students enacted as Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.  

 

The Webinar was widely attended by students, facukty, academicians including Prof.(Dr.) Bhudev Das, Director, Amity Institute of Molecular Medicine & Stem Cell Research, Dr. Chandradeep Tandon, Director , Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Dr. Dhuvar Kumar;  Dr. Sonia Kapoor amongst others .
