Experts deliberate on “Reinventing the Sense of Belongingness for Organizational Excellence”, at Amity

 Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, conducted a two-day Conference, on “Reinventing the Sense of Belongingness for Organizational Excellence"to celebrate the "Day of Belongingness", commemorating the birthday of Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, on virtual platform. The Day of Belongingness is a very special day for all Amitians as it emphasizes on the values of love, affection, kindness, respect, concern and care for each other, in the society. 

Sharing his views on the occasion, Prof Bhuvnesh Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya, averred, “Inculcating a sense of belongingness is imperative to any organization’s growth. Even educational institutions must inculcate a sense of belongingness in its students so that they feel valued and make all the efforts to bring pride to their institution and country. India is known for its rich cultural heritage comprising of the basic human values, which is a matter of immense pride for all of us. We have to believe that we belong to our nation and the nation belongs to us so that we can contribute to its growth and development.” 

Highlighting he importance of Sense of Belongingness, Dr Subash Goyal Chairman, Stic Group of Companies, stated, “Growth and success comes automatically when people feel that they belong to the organization. All the religions of the world teach the values of love, bonding, caring and sharing, which are the core values for a peaceful co-existence. Inculcating the basic human values which include a sense of belongingness is extremely essential as before becoming great professionals, we must become great human beings. Sense of responsibility emerges from a sense of belongingness. We must feel that we belong to the country and therefore, we must think and act responsibly.” 

Sharing his views on “Developing belongingness for Organizational Growth”, Mr. Aditya Agarwal, Chairman, Emami Group of Companies, averred, “Skills can be taught but values cannot be taught. They can be inculcated by observing others around us, especially, the leaders who imbibe these values. Therefore, leaders must lead by example so that others can follow them and develop the qualities of kindness, generosity, care and affection. A relationship whether, it is between two human beings, between a human being and an organization or between a human being and the society, is based on the sense of belongingness. If we have a sense of belongingness, we can achieve everything through our heartfelt endeavours.” 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Malhotra Founder: SAR Group, Luminous, Livpure, Livguard & Ncubate Capital, said, “Profit or loss is secondary for a company, it is the well-being of the employees which should matter the most. Caring for the organization and its people is imperative for the growth of an enterprise. Caring is nurtured through a sense of belongingness, when we feel the person belongs to us, we make all the efforts for his happiness and prosperity, which contributes to a harmonious coexistence of individuals. If we want peace and prosperity in the society, we have to bear in mind the basic human values.” 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, stated, “We, at Amity, always believe in the growth of each and every student, we care for our people and consider them as our family. The “values” and “sanskars” which are the foundation of Amity, are inculcated in our students, right from the moment they enter Amity. Our honourable Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, believes that each and every student is important to us, and we make sure that they have a bright future and contribute to nation building because we truly believe that they belong to us and we belong to them.” 

During the two-day conference, various insightful sessions on different topics including, “Tolerance, Empathizing Identity, Appreciating Diversity”, “Importance of Developing Belongingness for Organisational Growth & Excellence” and “Taking Diversity & Inclusion to the Next Level”, were conducted amongst others, where the Distinguished Speakers presented their views. The conference was attended by the students, faculty, researchers, and Head of Institutions of Amity, in large numbers.
