70 Countries Participate in Amity International Literature Festival (AILF 3.0)

 

Amity University Uttar Pradesh, organized its third edition of the prestigious Annual mega event, Amity International Literature Festival (AILF 3.0) 2022 , a four daylong  festival on Virtual Platform from today.

 

The Amity International Literature Festival promises to be a felicitous and sagacious manifestation of aspirations and goal of imparting holistic education since it accomplishes a grand congregation of Students across the globe, providing a virtual rendezvous filled with edifying tantalising literature events like debate, poetry, story writing and many more along with a with a myriad of competitions.  The festival will be rife with the spirit of competition, gaiety, and cross-cultural exchange.

 

Inaugurating the Festival, Mr. Pranav Desai, Founder of Voice of Specially Abled People , Business Unit Head, NTT DATA, USA termed this festival as very enlightening, since for the first time any university has thought about including people with disabilities in the Literature Festival. “There is need for literature and art to change the narrative on disability. In our society there is tremendous ignorance and stigma on disability therefore, literature has a big role to bridge this gap. Inclusion at every level is possible and disability can be included in the Assistive Technology. As part of literature, art by disabled persons sensitises everyone and one should leverage technology for global reach to artist with disabilities”, averred Desai.

 

Welcoming the 70 International Participants and Delegates, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, AUUP said, ‘ in the last 2 years, life has completely changed by the Pandemic but today technology has diminished the geographic differences and we are connected with the people across the Globe faster and easily now. Literature gives an understanding of different cultures, economy, history, people etc., huge participation in this festival itself means people value literature and want to share and learn. Literature festival will promote passion for literature and provide holistic information to participants thereby giving the joy of learning”.

 

Guest of Honor, Dr. Subrina Jesmin, UN speaker for women’s empowerment, Multi Global Award-Winning Medical Scientist, Healthcare Entrepreneur, Consultant, Advisor, Advocate, Marketing Influencer, Lead Generation, Public Speaker; Women Health Promoter; Japan spoke about the research in the education sector which can be promoted through literature festivals. Literature festival bridges countries together in all aspects and is an opportunity for the Students to meet Authors, Lyricist, Script Writers, Story Tellers and many more luminaries. She advised students to make full use of this festival and widen their horizons.

Guest of Honor Prof. (Dr.) Eugene O'Brien, Head of Department of English Language and Literature, Mary Immaculate College, Ireland said, literature festival provides a broader view of countries where people like to express through stories, in times when there are several conflicts happening based on religion, ethnicity etc. Literature allows us to read the book and inhabit the mind, consciousness, experiences and perspective of the author, somebody from a totally different culture, and thus understand human felt level experiences.

Delighted to be part of Amity Literature Festival Prof. (Dr.) Laurie Baker-Malungu, Adjunct Professor of Education, University of Saint Joseph, Macao said, literature trains us to become the observer of reality and each moment provides new opportunity to see the bird’s eye view of the writer. Literature provides all aspects of human conditions and open experiences to different ideologies, cultures etc, which not only enlighten the reader but also gives a vast exposure.

Highlighting the flow of events of the festival, Festival Director AILF3.0- Prof. (Dr.) Alpana Kakkar, Dean Student Support & Academic Affairs, Amity University, said, “this year, AILF 3.0 will host activities such as, Insta-Ad, Book Cover Design, Rising Stan Lee, Picture Perfect, Chills and Thrills, WebSpree, Twitterature, and Gryphons and Gargoyles. There will also be several Workshops on Poetry, Story Writing, Art of Storytelling and Public Speaking and various Panel Discussions covering different aspects of literature that will be led by eminent panelists, workshops experts and event jury from across 6 continents, 62 countries.  This AILF-2022 will be different this year and see huge participation across the globe , including Australia, China, Canada, USA, Peru, Egypt, Italy, New Zealand, Cuba, Algeria, Turkey, UAE and many others.

Dr. Manu Mangattu, Poet, Visiting Faculty - Harvard University compared the Apollo and Dionysian era where Apollo represented harmony, progress, clarity, logic and the principle of individuation, whereas Dionysian represented disorder, intoxication, emotion, ecstasy and unity and called Literature Festival as blend of these two cultures. The purpose of literature is to teach and entertain audience and widen our horizon to knowledge and thus literature festival appeals to both brain and heart together.

 During the four day festival, panel discussions will be held on topics such as : Out of the esoteric to the exoteric - A Celebrity's congregation, Call the shots to your TBR (to be read) files - Bookworm or a Dunce?, A lot of different flowers make a bouquet, Together through literature - Keep the literature fires burning, Through the enchanting window - The art of story telling, Embracing the world through Language and literature to be conducted by International experts as panelists.

 

Workshops will also be conducted on the topics: SkillUp to become Reading Kryptonites, Awaken your Creative hat through a euphonious expedition, L'Art oratoire discours' - Road to dynamic Public Speaking, Unveil your tale - Capturing a story telling ambience, Brightening Shilly Shallying - Conversation analysis and polishing Speaking skills, Exotic Settings, and non-human Homosapiens - Exploring Humanity Through Literature, Metamorphose to bring out the “I” factor in you.
