Amity Institute of Nanotechnology organized a 4 Day Value added e-Workshop on “Smart Nanotechnology for Societal Applications” from June 27-30, 2022.
Prof. O. P. Sinha, Director, Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, mentioned that nanotechnology is important for society development, whether it is the fight with Covid-19 pandemic or advancement in telecommunications for online education or 5G technology.
Prof. Sunita Rattan, Dean S&T Domain, Amity University Uttar Pradesh mentioned that nanotechnology and nanomaterials are the need of the hour. In every aspect of life including medical, textile and energy, this technology provides an edge over the existing one.
Prof. Shanker Ram, Professor IIT Kharagpur mentioned that smart nanostructures and Nanotechnology have societal impact. Students and researchers need to understand the need of time and get updated with nanotechnology. He also mentioned that nanomaterials are like small kids with high energy, and they need to nature for societal benefit.
Speaking about “Nanotechnology for Societal applications”, Prof. Rajiv Prakash, Dean R&D, IIT BHU highlighted how the advancement in nanotechnology helps the whole world in fighting with Covid-19.
Dr. P. C. Pandey, Associate Professor, IIT BHU spoke about “Luminescence state of some doped phosphors for white LED applications” and mentioned that nanotechnology helps to reduce the electricity consumption upto 50%.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session where the queries of the participants were answered by the guest speakers.
