A high-level delegation from Australian Universities visited Amity University to deliberate upon the potential areas of collaboration between Amity and Australian Universities. The delegation was led by Mr. David Templeman, Minister for International Education, Government of Western Australia, comprising of Mr. Jamal Qureshi, Director of Education South Asia Government of Western Australia, Ms. Robyn Robb, Director International Education, Govt. of Australia, Mr. Kelly Smith Pro Vice Chancellor International, Murdoch University, Ms. Melissa Kelly-Policy Advisor, Government of Western Australia, Ms. Derryn Belford, CEO, Study Perth and Professor Amit Chakma, Vice Chancellor, University of Western Australia, amongst others.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. David Templeman, Minister for International Education, Government of Western Australia, said, “Coming from a teaching background, I value the learning, dedication and commitment of the highly esteemed Amity University and its well qualified faculty. Western Australian Universities would like to collaborate with Amity and form a strategic alliance in the areas of science and technology, research and innovation, trade and finance and other important areas. Australian Universities would like to embark on a journey of mutual respect, admiration, learning and values, so that young, bright students from both countries can contribute immensely to the economic development of the two countries through academic collaboration.”
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Christine Hamilton, Deputy Mayor, City of Jundaloop, said, “This partnership is one of the three most significant partnerships which Australian Universities have formed with Indian institutions. Through this collaboration, global talent will be showcased and nurtured and partnerships in diverse fields will be explored along with new domains of research collaboration.”
Welcoming the guests on this occasion, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Amity University would be keen to collaborate with Australian Universities and explore the potential areas of collaboration through Joint Research, Student Exchange Programs, Joint Degree Programs, and Student Mobility Programs. Many Indian students are studying in Australian Universities and keeping in mind the friendly and amicable relationship between India and Australia, Amity would like to further strengthen this partnership. Amity University would also like to set up its campus within Australian Universities and welcomes Australian Universities to set up their campus within Amity University.”

Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), made a presentation on “Amity’s Scientific Research and Innovation initiatives”.
