Yoga – Meditation Session on Pre-& Post assessment for alignment of Mind-Body-Soul

Amity Institute of Indian System of Medicine conducted a Yoga – Meditation Session on Pre-& Post assessment for alignment of Mind-Body-Soul for the Students, Faculty members and Staff at Amity Yoga Centre, Amity University, Noida. The event was conducted under the aegis of National Implementation Committee (NIC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, formed under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister of Home Affairs, Sri Rajnath Singh.

The Session provided an opportunity for the newcomers as well as regular yoga practitioners to explore the fundamentals and more advanced aspects of yoga. It covered the basic principles of hatha yoga, flow, alignment, breath, work and balance. Yoga is something that is continually growing and beneficial to everyone, at all ages and abilities, since it is not only limited to physical level but transcends the boundaries of mental and spiritual connections, thus geared towards all around wellness.

Addressing the students, Shri Bahadur Singh Nirdosi, Rashtra Kavi and the Guest of Honor during the occasion, said that India has not only treasured but also sustained yoga since ages and today, the whole world understands its relevance. He apprised that yoga helps in building proper co-ordination between the body and mind as well as between the various organs and senses of the body. He exclaimed that yoga is not only about stretching the body or sitting in tranquility; simple and kind gestures like planting a tree, controlling pollution, living close to nature, loving people and being compassionate are all various aspects of yoga. “Yoga make you humble, humane and gives you a better understanding of yourself and life”, he added.

Addressing the guests and students among the audience, Dr. Sunita Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amity University said that Amity does not restricts its curriculum to academics but also encourages its students to live a cheerful, healthy and aseptic life. She averred that today, yoga has become an indispensable part of our lives and helps in keeping diseases and illness at bay. One who practices yoga at regular intervals develops high immunity and keeps himself away from chronic disorders.

Hundreds of Amitians including the students, faculties and staff participated in this venture to keep themselves healthy both physically and mentally.
