Interactive Meeting on Ramalingaswamy Re-entry Fellowship and other related schemes under DBT organized at Amity University

 Amity Foundation for Science, Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA) organized an interaction meeting on Ramalingaswamy Re-entry Fellowship and other related schemes under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) today, at Amity University, Noida.

Dr. Meenakshi Munshi, Scientist-G and In-charge of Ramalingaswamy Re-entry Fellowships, from the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest during the occasion and interacted with the faculties, PhD Scholars, Scientists and Researchers of Amity University.

Talking about the Ramalingaswamy Re-entry Fellowship, Dr W Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation (ASTIF) apprised that the Ramalingaswamy Re-entry Fellowship is a prestigious award and therefore, acquiring it is a herculean task in itself. “We can proudly say that Amity has produced such scholars who have been successful in claiming the fellowship.” He apprised that over the past few years Amity has heightened its stature as an Innovation and Research driven University and the patents that are approved are quickly dispatched for commercialization and are readily available in the market now-a days. Amity Innovation Incubator has also supported and nurtured over 300 start-ups over the years and has played a key role in their growth.

Interacting with the audience, Dr. Meenakshi Munshi apprised that the Bio-technology sector, over the past few years, has shown a rapid and exponential growth in India and our country is on the threshold of opening-up new opportunities for Scholars and Researchers in the field of Bio-technology. As a representative of DBT, she apprised the Scholars, Researchers and Scientists of Amity about the various projects, opportunities and fellowships provided by the DBT and guided them over the pre-requisites that they must bear in mind before they send their projects to the DBT for approval. She explained in detail about the functions, roles and responsibilities of the DBT and the programmes which the scholars can opt for further research. She encouraged the winners of the Ramalingaswamy Re-entry Fellowship on their achievement and wished them luck for further researches.

 Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Dr. Nutan Kaushik, Dr. B.C Das and Dr. Tanu Jindal also gave their valuable inputs during the occasion.
