Orientation and induction programme for PHD students

 

Amity has always laid stress on the Research and Innovation. In pursuit of the same, Amity has provided high class education and research opportunities to its students. This year 321 scholars have enrolled in various PhD programmes offered by AUUP.

The orientation and induction programme commenced with the auspicious Havan wherein all the PhD scholars from different areas of research including Engineering and Technology, Management, Hospitality and Tourism and Allied Sciences participated. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Faculty members, Professors and Students also attended the ceremony to seek blessing from the Almighty.

Welcoming the students, Prof. (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University apprised that some of the PhD scholars may be pursuing jobs along with their classes which is quite a challenging task and is going to be a great learning experience for them. She informed that this batch of PhD scholars have further added to the diversity of Amity in terms of the fields of research. She advised the students to maintain good, friendly and healthy relationships with their guides, who would be the torch-bearers in their research work and projects. She motivated the students to take their research to a level where it could impact the society and humanity globally.

The two-day orientation programme will involve several inductions sessions by the senior professors, scientists, and scholars of Amity on various topics including “Introduction to Research and Innovation at Amity Universe” by Dr. W. Selvamurthy; “Creating a mindset for pursuing research” by Dr. D.K Bandyopadhyay and “Why, What and How to do research” by Dr. B.C Das amongst others.
