World Cerebral Palsy Day

World Cerebral Palsy Day is a global movement of people with cerebral palsy and their families, and the organisations that support them, in more than 60 countries. The day is an opportunity to celebrate, raise awareness and take action to ensure that people with Cerebral Palsy (CP) have the same rights, access and opportunity as anyone else in their communities.

Although CP is the most common physical disability in childhood, it is widely misunderstood. Through World CP Day celebration, we at Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (AIRS) had the opportunity to raise awareness of CP in our student community and urged our students to look beyond the disability.

Encouragement and support from Prof. (Dr.) Jayanti Pujari, Director, AIRS & Ms. Pallavi Chauhan, Joint Director, AIRS and the enthusiastic participation of faculty and students of AIRS Department made this event a grand success. The World CP Day Celebration began with a great zeal. Flash Mob and Street Play performances, Games, signature campaign were all the part of the celebration. An overview of CP disability was delivered and a photo booth was setup to raise awareness and participation of students and staff from various departments of Amity University, Noida. Over 120 participants, both students and staff from various departments took part in this event.
