Young India Challenge 2019

 

The workshop which was held on 22nd August 2019 was designed to educate the participants about some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs (namely No. 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production and No. 13 - Climate Action) and to give them a challenge to create an innovative business plan to find the role and contribution of youth and businesses for the same. Participants worked in teams to come up with practical solutions for the SDGs.

 

During the workshop, they also got an orientation about the upcoming 10th Young India Challenge (YIC) on 12-13 October 2019 Challenges - After an introduction to sustainable development and climate change goals initiatives and the qualms in producing palm oil, the 96 student participants from across 16 different Institutions across AUUP , Noida campus were given a challenge to present a report to the board of a company to use sustainable palm oil in the production of its products. The atmosphere was enlivened as students from AISS, ASCO,ASET,ABS,ACEF,AIPS,AIS,AIIT,AINST,AIPT,AIP, AIBS and many more institutions set down to present the best possible solution.

 

The second challenge set forward by UN live was to make a vision board which included the steps one would take to achieve our vision for how our city would be like in 10, 50 and 100 years respectively. 96 students were divided in 10 teams

 

The event was finally won by Team 5 representing Amity International Business School prevailed as the winners of the event, while Team 1 – ABS , Team 2- Mixed Team of AMIMUN Club and Team 3 -CII were declared as the co-runner’s up. The event was presided by the following judges: 1. Kamal Prakash Seth, Founder and Chief Happiness Officer, Human Circle 2. Wioleta Burdzy Seth, Co-founder and Chief Operation Officer, Human Circle 3. Edyta Skrobotowicz, Partnership Development, Human Circle 4. Sakshi Bhalla, Representative for My Mark:My City campaign by UN Live.

 

The event concluded with the hope that we would all do our best to create a better future for our successors.
