“Amity University-Rekhi Foundation Centre for the Science of Happiness” was inaugurated at Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida campus. The Centre has been established under Amity International Business School, Amity University, to empower the youth with the tools of happiness and provide an international platform for learning by incorporating happiness into Global Academia, corporate and community.
Highlighting the proposed outcomes out of the Centre for Science of Happiness Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi, MD & CEO R Systems International Limited, stated, “Human brain is never stable and always keeps jumping from one place to another like a monkey. Becoming aware that one’s inner voice is not their own but that of a monkey, as it keeps changing, is the spiritual beginning of happiness. The Centre will facilitate learning the best practices adopted by happy souls, leaders and organizations across sectors and cultures, conduct in-depth research in shades of happiness, develop innovative tangible or intangible happiness enhancing tools for personal, team, organizational and societal well-being and create experiential/blended happiness courses, workshops and training programs that will disseminate knowledge joyfully. It will also help in attracting researchers and conscious citizens for building collective happiness ecosystem across work and life, bidding for various projects in the domain of well-being, happiness, consciousness domain, and delivering happiness education through credit-based courses to the students, corporate and community.”
Expressing extreme delight on this occasion, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, averred, “At Amity, we strongly believe in the complete well-being of our students, including physical and mental well-being. Everyone wants to be successful and happy in life and the Centre will promote happiness amongst the students of Amity so that they can study in a positive environment and a healthy state of mind.” He also called upon the students to think differently, be positive and develop a happy state of mind, which are the essential traits for becoming successful.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, asserted, “One can only become successful if one is happy and at Amity, the focus is on holistic development of students. Understanding ourselves and others is the key to happiness. If today's youth is happy then the society will also be happy, making the country and the entire world, a happy place to live in. ‘Amity University- Rekhi Foundation Centre for the Science of Happiness’ aims to develop high standards of research in the areas of happiness. It will aid in stimulating the existing ecosystem of body, mind and energy with more general social objectives, corporate strategy-culture seamless integration to enhance happiness.”
Welcoming the guests on this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group VC, Amity Universities, said, “The Centre has been inaugurated with the aim to share simple methods to enhance happiness. It is a platform for making the students joyful students, faculty and community members who will be able to enhance their quality of lives, develop clarity, confidence and be a great asset to any organization they will join or run in the future. It also supports existing academic credit-based courses by becoming the new window to fulfill the requirements of Human Values and Community Outreach Programmes being run by Amity University. It aims to become the ‘Happiness Hub’ for India and the world by attracting students to come for internship, social projects and above all an intention for transforming oneself into a joyful being.”
