2nd International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Business Development (ICESBD 2024), held at Amity

 Amity School of Business (ASB), Amity University Noida, organized the 2nd International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Business Development (ICESBD 2024), on 6th & 7th February 2024. The Conference was aimed at bringing Academicians and Researchers together to share their latest Research work in various functional areas of Entrepreneurship and Business.

 

 

Inaugurating the Conference, Chief Guest: Mr. Mahesh Munjal, Chairman and Managing Director, Majestic Auto, averred, “If you reduce the use of brakes while driving, keep distance from the vehicles running ahead, do not increase the speed, get the vehicles checked regularly, maintain air pressure in the tyres, it will help in generating less pollution.” Mr. Munjal further added that sustainability is not the responsibility of only one person, it is the collective responsibility of all the people of the country.

 

 

Addressing the students of Amity, Mr. Vinod Thusu, Lead- Sustainability, Hero MotoCorp., stated,Entrepreneurship plays an important role in society and also in environmental protection. Today, customers demand stable products, so durability is important for business. India is emerging as the third largest economy for startups in the world, therefore, this is the right time to focus on entrepreneurship and develop leadership skills.” Mr. Thusu briefed about the initiatives taken by Hero MotorCorps in the field of environment and sustainable entrepreneurship.

 

 

Deliberating upon environmental concerns and sustainability, Mr. Gaurav Kaul, Head of Government Relations at Material Recycling Association of India, said, “We have a linear economy where people buy, use and throw away the products. However, the need of the hour is to reuse and recycle products to ensure a sustainable environment. About 40 thousand giga tons of waste is being generated per year whereas the total capacity of the earth is to carry 5 lakh giga tons. From the perspective of trade and policy, sustainability means protecting natural and physical resources from degradation so that they can last longer. Therefore, adopting sustainable business practices is the need of the hour and taking care of mother earth will protect the environment.”

 

 

Sharing his views on the occasion, Keynote Speaker Mr. V Krishnan, Co-Founder and Group President Justdial, asserted, “The best time to start your own venture in the country is now and students must take full advantage of the opportunities provided to them in this golden decade. Any business is based on simple ideas and exceptional performance, and no one is born talented, but one can become talented by enhancing their skills and knowledge, gradually. Business is not only about making money but impacting the lives of people and making their lives better.” He advised the students to develop their personality, focus on their health and read motivational books.

 

 

Encouraging the students, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Through such conferences, students get valuable information about the various aspects of business and entrepreneurship. After the pandemic, there has been a huge change in the business environment and it has become necessary to understand the need of customers for the success of the business, The practical information shared, and talks delivered by the experts will be highly beneficial for the students.”

Welcoming the guests during the Inaugural Session, Dr. Sujata Khandai, Director, Amity School of Business said, “The objective of this two-day conference is to provide a platform to the academicians and researchers to share their latest research work in various functional areas of entrepreneurship and business. The Conference will produce immense learning outcome for the participants in view of the relevance of the themes and expertise of distinguished Guest Speakers.”

 

 

During the two-day Conference, Panel Discussions on themes such as  “Charting the path for the future through building sustainable business practices” and “Capacity Building Program for MSMEs”, were also held wherein industry experts and senior academicians will participate and share their views. The esteemed panelists included Mr. Hemant Tiwari, Director, Avery Dennison India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Vinay Kumar, Chief Information Officer, McDonald, Mr. Atul Govil, Chief Information Officer, Glycol, Mr. Supreet Singh, Founder, Starshield Technologies and Mr. Alok Agarwal, Plant Head, JAKSON Engineers Ltd. In addition, a Case Study Competition and Research Paper Presentation, were also organized.
