Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida campus signed an MoU with Ibaraki Prefecture, with the aim to provide training and employment opportunities to talented human resources from India in the Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. A team from Ikabari Prefecture led by Mr. Kazuhiko Oigawa, Governor, Ibaraki Prefecture, comprising of Mr. Masayoshi Ohtake, Director General Department of Industrial Strategy, Mr. Michinari Masuda, Director, Employment Opportunity Promotion Section Labor Affairs Division, Mr. Yohei Ichisawa, Staff, Employment Opportunity Promotion Section Labor Affairs Division, along with members from Sekisho Corporation Japan, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh for the MoU Signing Ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kazuhiko Oigawa, Governor, Ibaraki Prefecture averred, “We look forward to a fruitful partnership with Amity University, which will enable us to share knowledge, ideas, and cultures, apart from paving the way for a brighter future for our students and communities. We will provide full support in the training and transfer of Indian talent from Amity University Uttar Pradesh to Ibaraki Prefecture after their graduation and also offer Japanese language courses for Amity University Uttar Pradesh students. Almost 10,000 PhD holders are working in Ibaraki region, with more than 2000 Indians. We are also going to open a new international school of Indians in Ibaraki Prefecture. We aim to build a strong association with Amity in various areas including Information technology, Management, Economics, Biotechnology, and all other areas.
Expressing her pleasure, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, "We are thrilled to partner with Ibaraki Prefecture and explore opportunities for our students. This MoU aligns with our vision of fostering global relationships and promoting cultural diversity and we are certain that through this MoU the relationship between Amity and Japan will be further strengthened and new opportunities will emerge.”
Sharing information about Ibaraki Prefecture, Mr. Masayoshi Ohtake, Director General Department of Industrial Strategy, Ibaraki Prefecture, said, “Located close to Tokyo, with a large amount of flat land and rich natural environment, Ibaraki Prefecture is one of the largest in Japan in terms of the area where factories are located. It is a prefecture where nature industry, research and development are in harmony and it is a major hub of many global manufacturers like Hitachi, Canon, Mitsubishi Chemicals, etc. therefore there are unlimited employment opportunities in this region, for the students.”
Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President ASTIF presented an overview of Amity University Research Initiatives on this occasion and an interaction between the students studying Japanese language at Amity and the officials from Ibaraki Prefecture was also held. Also present during the MoU Signing Ceremony were Mr. Anjani Bhatnagar, Deputy Director Amity Technical placement Centre, HOIs, and senior faculty members of Amity.
