Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, is organising its prestigious and insightful 6th Edition of International Conference on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership (ICEIL 2024) on the theme ‘Leveraging Emerging Technologies for a Self-Reliant Nation’ from 9th to 11th October 2024.
Introducing the Conference, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Chair – ICEIL’2024 & Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “In an era marked by rapid technological advancements, nations get unprecedented opportunities to achieve self-reliance through the strategic adoption and application of emerging technologies. Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, internet of things, drones, robotics, bioinformatics, and others are transforming businesses and societies globally. These powerful technologies present immense opportunities for developing self-reliant and sustainable economic growth models. As per the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, India should become “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant Nation), with its focus on domestic capacity building, technology development and export competitiveness also help lay the groundwork for realizing the ambitions of Viksit Bharat@2047. The Conference aims to explore such opportunities for building a self-reliant nation and will serve as the catalyst for transformative change, inspiring a collective effort towards harnessing the power of technology for sustainable development.”
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Masaki Seki, President, Sekisho Corporation, Japan, averred, “India and Japan share close ties in the areas of economy, defence security, infrastructure development and science and technology. In August this year, 50,000 Indian IT professionals were hired by Japanese companies. Japan will face a deficit of 4-8 lakh IT professionals by 2030 and this gap will be filled by Indian professionals. Amity University is a great institution, which is doing commendable work of nurturing future leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators. We are looking at a close collaboration with Amity to fill this gap, so that young, skilled workforce can work with us.”
Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Managing Director, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Govt. of India, stated, “Innovation led growth will be the way forward for every country and therefore, such conferences are extremely relevant to the current scenario, when India is moving forward on the path of development. Innovation has transformed many countries including US, Japan, Korea and their economies have grown because they strongly focussed on scientific research and innovation. Biotech companies are doing extremely well in India and taking the lead in new technologies and innovation, The role of universities and higher education institutions is pivotal in fostering research and innovation. A Special message received from Shri Chirag Kumar Paswan, Union Minister, Food Processing Industries, was also read during the Inaugural Session. In his message Shri Paswan appreciated and congratulated Amity University for organizing the conference on an extremely relevant theme and such conferences motivate the students to work hard, achieve success and contribute to nation-building.

Deliberating upon the “Indian Biotech Update”, Mr. G S Krishnan, President,
Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE), said, “Association of Biotechnology led Enterprises (ABLE) was launched in April 2003, which is a pan India forum to represent the Biotech Sector in India. India produced 25% global vaccines in 2023, and it is the world’s 3rd largest producer of Bioethanol. The top states contributing to Bio Economy are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Gujarat. The potential growth segments in this area are Bio Pharma, Renewable Energy, Food & nutrition, and Bio Agriculture. The Outreach Programmes of ABLE with Biotechnology institutes will promote Entrepreneurship among budding youngsters and provide them with great career opportunities.”
On this occasion, Amity Entrepreneurial/Leadership Excellence Award 2024 was conferred upon Dr. A.K. Tyagi, Executive Director, M/s. Haldiram Snacks Private Ltd. , Mr. Masaki Seki, President, Sekisho Corporation, Japan, Mr. Anku Jain, Managing Director, Media Tek India, Dr. K R K Reddy, Founder, Director & CEO, Sri BioAesthetics Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, Telangana, Mr. Gaurav Chauhan, Managing Director- India & APAC, Radio Design India Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Shiv Prakash Rathnam, CEO, Synchron Research Services Pvt. Ltd. An Abstract Book, Start-up Expo Souvenir and Eureka Souvenir were released during the Inaugural Session. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President ASTIF, and the HOIs of Amity.
During the three-day Conference, a Start-Up Expo with 50 start-ups, 56 Panel Discussion Sessions with 300 + Speakers and Session Chairs, 70 Case Studies and 65 Research Paper Presentations, will be organized in addition to Eureka: Innovative Design Project/ Poster Competition wherein 80 teams will be participating and Lakshya: Business Plan Competition wherein 60 teams will be participating. Apart from this, a Plenary Session on “Transforming Nation into Viksit Bharat @2047 by Creating Innovation, Emerging Technologies, Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Pioneering Leadership”, workshops on “Emerging Tech Trends: A Roadmap to Future” and “Network Pharmacology in Drug Discovery and Development” and Symposiums on “Social Entrepreneurship Paving Way for Viksit Bharat@2047” and Resilient Innovations, Smart Technologies for Climate Action and Sustainability, will also be held.
