Mr P K Gupta addressing the gathering

Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Amity University Noida in collaboration with Digital Twin Consortium and Open Health System Laboratory, USA, organized an International Workshop on Digital Twin Technology (IWDTT-2024).

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Dan Issac, CTO, Digital Twin Consortium, USA, averred, “The aim of Digital Twin Consortium is to drive the adoption, use, interoperability and development of digital twin technology. It propels the innovation of digital twin technology through consistent approaches and open-source development, it is committed to accelerating the market and guiding outcomes for users. Digital Twin Technology is used in Aerospace and Defence Sector, Mobility and Transportation, Agriculture Food and Beverage, Healthcare and Life Sciences and many others since it is the future of technology.”

Deliberating upon the topic, “The world of Digital Twins, Architectures & Use Cases”, Mr. Pushpendra Kumar Gupta, Global CTO, Dell Technologies, Singapore, stated, “Digital Twin is a comprehensive link between physical and digital. The Digital Twin Sector is expected to reach over $ 140 bn by the year 2031. Digital Twins is used across a wide range of industries such as autonomous operations, security management, product quality, supply chain improvement, predictive maintenance, precision medicine, disaster scenario planning, and energy efficiency and the technology is becoming extremely important across industries because it is central to accelerating digital transformation.”

Addressing the students, Mr. Aditya Kumar Sinha, Director, C-DAC Patna, said, “A digital twin is a virtual representation of an object or system designed to reflect a physical object accurately. It spans the object's lifecycle, is updated from real-time data and uses simulation, machine learning and reasoning to help make decisions. C-DAC with its focus on Advanced Computing is uniquely positioned to establish dependable and secure Exascale Ecosystem offering services in various domains. C-DAC has crafted its strategic practical roadmap, keeping in perspective the paradigm shift in the global technological ecosystem and ever-dynamic area of national ICT scenario.”

Highlighting the significance of the Conference, Dr. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Director ASET, asserted, “Looking at the fact that the global digital twin market is projected to reach US$137.67 billion by 2030 [as reported by Fortune Business Insights] and the Asia-Pacific region is projected to grow faster in this domain, it becomes imperative to stay updated with the tech trend. The workshop aims to bring together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals from around the globe to explore the latest advancements, applications, and research in the field of Digital Twin Technology.”

The Conference comprised of 4 Tracks titled, “A Primer on Digital Technology”, “Data Acquisition, Technology Enabler, Infrastructure for Digital Twins”, “Platforms for Modelling and Simulation in Digital Twins”, and “Scenarios and Application of Digital Twin Technology”. The Guest Speakers included Ms. Vidya Basarkot, Managing Director- Ramboll India, Mr. Radhakrishnan G Nair, Founder and CEO, VRticles, Mr. Rajesh Dhyani, Executive Director, Hexagon R&D India, amongst others.
