Amity University students take a Pledge for National Unity and Integrity on the occasion of “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”

Pledge taking Ceremony to mark the occasion of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Amity

Amity University organized a “Pledge Taking Ceremony” to commemorate “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”, wherein thousands of students took a pledge for national unity and integrity, thereby resolving to make their contribution to ensure the internal security of the country. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year on 31st October to mark the the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

 

Addressing the students, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University said, “Our great Freedom Fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, played a crucial role in India's freedom movement and in the integration of India from 560 princely states. We observe 31st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of our nation. India is a land of diverse religions, languages, cultures and traditions and stands true to the philosophy of “Unity in Diversity”. The occasion provides us an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity, and security of our country.”

 

On this occasion, a Panel Discussion was also organized on the topic, “Importance of National Unity in a Self-reliant India”, wherein Dr. D.K. Bandopadhyay, Chairman Amity Law School, Dr. Nirupama Prakash, Director Amity Institute of Social Sciences, Brig Anand Tiwari, Director Amity Institute of Defence Strategic Studies and Dr. Chanderdeep Tandon, Addl Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University, shared their views.

 

Also present on the occasion were Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Dr. H P Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr. Laxmi Ahuja, Dy Dean Students’ Welfare and Dr. Jai Saini, Director Students’ Welfare, the students and faculty of Amity.
