Corporates offer internship opportunities to Amity students

 

The Corporate Resource Centre, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, organized XCONNECT - INTERNSHIP FAIR 2024 from 18th to 23rd March 2024. The fair aimed at providing a platform to the industries for interacting with a talented pool of students of 2025 passing out batches and hand-picking the interns who can contribute to their requirements. The students will be available for a summer internship from the 2nd week of May to the 2nd week of July 2024 for a duration of 6-8 weeks as part of their summer internship programme which is integrated into their Engineering curriculum.

During the Inaugural programme, various industry leaders shared their thoughts on “Experience Real World Learning & Empower Your Future”, interacted with the students, and offered their guidance. The industry leaders included Mr. Anil Srivastava, President, Open Health Systems Laboratory(OHSL), USA, Mr. Viney Kaushik, CHRO, Nuberg Engineering Ltd., Dr. Mukul Chopra, CHRO, ConveGenius, Ms. Shalini Jauhri, Head Talent Management and ER, Morris Garages, Mr. Kamal Sharma, Group CEO, Kambill Systems Pvt. Ltd , Mr. Siddharth Sawhney, Group General Manager, Infosys, Ms. Nirmala Venkat, Global People Advisor, Kigen, Mr Yudhisther Yadav, India Lead - Students & Citizen Skilling Initiatives, Trailhead Academy, Salesforce, Mr. Rohit Kumar, Head R&D, CSC e-Governance, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (Government of India), Ms. Priyanka Upreti, Sr. Manager -Market Development, NASSCOM , Mr. Dheeraj Modi, Head Talent Acquisition - South East Asia, Oceania and India, Ericsson and Ms. Hiteshi Chowdhary, HR Business Partner, Hilti India.

Addressing the students, Mr. Viney Kaushik, CHRO, Nuberg Engineering Ltd. said, “By 2047, India is aiming to become a developed nation and the youth will play a major role in achieving this goal. Industry exposure is crucial and therefore students must utilize the opportunity to the fullest. Making good friends, networking and asking questions is essential for their career progression.” 

Speaking about the opportunities in Digital India, Mr. Rohit Kumar, Head R&D, CSC e-Governance, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (Government of India) stated, “Digital India is going through remarkable transformation. Digi Yatra, UPI Apps and many other apps have been launched by the government for the convenience of the masses. The youth of India must participate in the digital journey of India and those who are interested in technology must create new apps for the benefit of the masses. Students must prepare thoroughly for their interviews and must never give up till they have achieved their goal.”

Sharing the tips for creating a good Resume, Mr. Dheeraj Modi, Head Talent Acquisition - Southeast Asia, Oceania and India, Ericsson, said, “Create good Resume mentioning your skill sets and qualifications clearly. Once you have got the offer and joined the organization, give it your best performance.”

Mr Yudhisther Yadav, India Lead - Students & Citizen Skilling Initiatives, Trailhead Academy, Salesforce, said that staying curious and having the zeal to learn and grow will take the students very high in their career. “In addition, learning from their seniors and peers also adds value to their skills and knowledge.”, added Mr. Yadav.

Ms. Priyanka Upreti, Sr. Manager -Market Development, NASSCOM, said, “It is extremely important for the students to have the desire for learning and getting hands-on experience. Everything cannot be taught in classrooms, therefore, internships play a major role in shaping the career of the students and making them future ready for their corporate life.”  

Welcoming the industry leaders, Dr. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, said, “XCONNECT - INTERNSHIP FAIR 2024 will provide the employers the opportunity to interact directly with nearly 1,000 students from all streams of engineering.  Amity has always emphasized upon providing hands-on experience and practical knowledge to the students, apart from classroom education. The event will allow the employers to identify candidates with the right mix of qualifications, personality, attitude, ability, and desire that best fits their organization’s culture, philosophy, and job openings. Amity students are already industry-ready since they are taught behavioural skills, foreign languages and human values as part of their curriculum. Today, employees do not have much time to train the new joinees, therefore, such internships serve as a kickstart to the career journey of students.”

Around 1000 students from different domains of Engineering including Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronic, Information Technology, amongst others participated in the internship fair and received information regarding different internship opportunities. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Madhuri Kumari, Dy. Director (Placement & Industry Relations), ASET and students from Engineering domain, in large numbers.
