Courses on Sustainability

Amity University offers a structured set of credit-bearing courses focused specifically on climate science and environmental sustainability, which are fully integrated into our academic programmes.

These courses are in line with national and international academic frameworks (such as ECTS-equivalent credit structures), ensuring transparency, transferability, and academic rigour. The courses are offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and are delivered as core, elective, or interdisciplinary courses, depending on the programme.

The curriculum covers areas such as:

  • Climate change science and impacts
  • Environmental sustainability and resource management
  • Climate policy, governance, and sustainable development
  • Environmental monitoring, assessment, and mitigation strategies

All courses follow approved learning outcomes, assessment methodologies, and credit allocations as prescribed by regulatory and accreditation bodies (UGC–NEP 2020 Credit Framework), enabling students to earn formally recognised academic credits upon successful completion. The credits are eligible for accumulation and transfer through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).

Amity University offers a credit-based Degree Programme in Environmental Science, Climate Change And Green Technology and Environmental Health Safety & Management, leading to the award of an officially recognized qualification under the University Grants Commission (UGC) framework. The programmes are designed in accordance with the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and aligned with the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework (NHEQF).

The programmes:

  • Operate under the UGC Credit Framework with defined credit requirements and learning hours.
  • Facilitate credit accumulation and transfer through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
  • Integrate interdisciplinary components encompassing climate science, environmental sustainability, policy, adaptation, mitigation, and technological solutions.
  • Clearly map Programme Outcomes (POs) and Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) to sustainability competencies, research aptitude, and societal engagement.
  • Incorporates fieldwork, experiential learning, research projects, and skill-based components in alignment with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles.

The qualification awarded upon successful completion is duly approved by the statutory bodies of the University and recognized under applicable UGC regulations.
