Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida campus conferred Honorary Doctorates upon Hon’ble Andrew Butler KC, Deputy Chair of the Harrow School Governing Body and Mr. Ajay Bahl, Co-Founder of AZB & Partners, to recognize their exceptional accomplishments and outstanding contributions in Law Domain.
Accepting the Honorary Doctorate, Hon’ble Andrew Butler KC, Deputy Chair of the Harrow School Governing Body, averred, “It is an honour for me to receive the Honorary Doctorate from a prestigious institution like Amity University. I would like to express my tribute to the leadership of Amity, which is a globally reputed institution. Building a career is like climbing a hill and today I have reached the pinnacle of the hill by the honour received from Amity. He called upon the students to never get disheartened, not to cut corners and work hard to achieve success and always give back to the next generation, just like Amity is giving back by nurturing the future generation.”
On this occasion, Mr. Andrew Butler KC, also delivered a Guest Lecture on “Good faith; Bad Law? – the Rise and Fall of Implied Obligations of Good Faith since Yam Seng,” for Law students. He shared several Case Studies such as Yam Seng Pte Ltd vs International Trade Corp Ltd., Bristol Groundschool vs Intelligence Data, Globe Motors Inc vs TRW Lucas, AI Nehayan vs Kent, Bates vs Post Office, and many others. The Case studies were highly informative for the students as they received insights into these cases and developed an understanding of good faith, which means honesty and integrity in legal matters.

Accepting the Honorary Doctorate, Mr. Ajay Bahl, Co-Founder of AZB & Partners, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have contributed to my success, including my father, my mentor Mr. Harish Salve who is a renowned lawyer of India, my wife and family members. Students must understand their client’s requirements and work towards finding a solution to their problems. They must attain knowledge from various sources and always be ready to enhance their learning. Youth should be agents of change and must work towards making the system better and creating new opportunities. AI should be used as a tool to enhance our knowledge, it should be used to add value to our work.”
