Amity Institute of Behavioural Health and Allied Sciences (AIBHAS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus is organising a two-day RCI-approved Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) programme on “Newer Horizons in Mental Health Care: EEG Neurofeedback in Clinical Conditions”, from 16-17th April 2026. The Programme is being conducted with the aim to enhance clinical competencies and promote innovation in mental health care.  Around 115 participants including doctors and clinical psychologist, from West Bengal,  Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana, have participated in the Programme.

Addressing the gathering during the Inaugural Session, Prof. (Dr.) Jamuna Rajeswaran, HOD, Clinical Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience Centre, NIMHANS, averred, “EEG Neurofeedback (EEG-NF) is used clinically as a non-invasive way to train brain activity. It is not a replacement for medication or therapy, however, research shows promising results for several conditions. It is used for treating Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, sleep issues, migraines, and performance training for athletes and students. It also helps in treating insomnia, migraines, and performance training for athletes or students. Students must conduct new research in this area so that the technique can be developed further to help mental health patients.”

Prof (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, AUUP, stated, “Mental health problems are increasing day by day and new challenges are emerging for which more mental health experts are required. The expert guidance shared by the esteemed guests during the Programme will be highly beneficial for the students, which will open new doors of opportunities in the field of neurosciences and clinical psychology.”

Prof (Dr) Kalpana Srivastava, Director, Amity Institute of Behaviour (Health) and Allied Sciences (AIBHAS), said, “EEG Neurofeedback is an emerging and evidence-based intervention in clinical psychology, a type of biofeedback that trains your brain activity in real time. Through Neurofeedback, individuals can learn to modify brain activity when provided with accurate information about their neural states. The CRE program will facilitate knowledge exchange, promote evidence-based practices, and reinforce the importance of innovative approaches in mental health care.”

Also present on the occasion was Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Sr. Director & Vice President AFDD. During the two-day CRE Programme, Technical Sessions on topics such as “Models of Neuro regulation and Psychopathology”, “Foundations of EEG Neurofeedback (EEG Recording”, “Data acquisition and Signal Interpretation”, “Principle and Mechanisms of Neurofeedback Training”, “Major EEG Neurofeedback Models” and others were conducted.
