“Empowering Next-Generation Business Leaders crucial for nation-building”, aver experts at Amity

Amity School of Business, Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida campus is organizing “Family Business Conclave-2026”, on 28th-29th April 2026. The conclave is centered around the theme Empowering Next-Generation Family Business Leaders”, bringing together founders, institutional leaders, family business owners, next-generation entrepreneurs, and academicians to deliberate on critical aspects such as succession planning, family business governance, and managing intergenerational dynamics in today’s evolving business landscape.

 

Deliberating upon “Succession Planning as Strategy: Securing the Future of Family Enterprises”, Mr. Soumik Bandhopadhyay, Family Business Advisor & Director Soumik Bandhopadhyay Advisors Pvt. Ltd., averred, “Succession planning is an extremely important strategic tool for safeguarding values for many generations. While succession planning is important at the enterprise level, it is much more important at the family level. There are many professional tools and procedures available to facilitate succession planning at family level. Succession does not mean replacing the founder, rather it aims to ensure that the enterprise survives even after its founder, without losing its identity or economic power. Speaking about the family business scenario in India, he said that family business contributes 70-90 percent to the world's business development and about 79 percent to the Indian GDP. Therefore, the youth must play a crucial role in managing their family business, thereby a contributing to nation-building.”

 

Dwelling upon the theme, “Empowering Next-Gen Leaders through Structured Governance and Defined Roles”, Mr. Viraj Vadehra, Director at Atlas Adhesives, Noida, stated, “There are two types of businesses, MSMEs and Large Enterprises, MSMEs are receiving a lot of financial support by the government. We should select the right kind of people,and provide them with the right knowledge about business systems and processes. Amity University is one of the few reputed selected institutions which prepare and develops the skills of the students to handle family business. Work experience as well as knowledge are necessary, for managing businesses. We must choose the right people according to their skills and abilities to shoulder different responsibilities of a business and everyone’s roles should be well- defined so that business can be managed successfully.”

 

Deliberating upon the topic, “Empowering Next-Gen Leaders through Structured Governance and Defined Roles: Integrating Women’s Leadership in Family Businesses", Ms. Pranjala Khandelwal, Business Development Manager at Atlas, noted, “It is seen that women do not get the lead role in the family business, however, we have seen many successful women entrepreneurs, at the top leadership positions handling their family business successfully. Women should be passionate about business, take responsibility and set their own goals. They should have the authority to take important business decisions and take lead in every aspect of the business.”

During the two-day Conclave, students of different domains including hospitality, law management, agriculture and engineering, made presentations on the topic, “From Classroom to Boardroom: Transition from Student to Business Leader”.
