In order to strengthen mutual relationships, a high level delegation led by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kachin State of Myanmar, Mr.U Lajon Ngan Sai visited Amity Campus, Sector 125 Noida and discussed the areas of potential collaboration with Amity University.
The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan; Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation; Dr.Gurinder Singh, Group Addl. Vice Chancellor , Amity; Prof. (Dr.) Upinder Dhar;Dr. Ajit K. Nagpal, Chairman, Amity PACIFIC Forum and Senior Officials of Amity University.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Mr. Aseem Chauhan said that Amity is honored and delighted to host the delegation of such a high stature and eminence. He further added that education and skill development are one of the major contributors to a nation’s development and in present time, research,innovation and incubation are the added contributors. Mr. Chauhan also underlined Amity’s commitment to development of the country.
Sharing his views on potential collaboration, Mr. U Lajon Ngan Sai said that many students of Myanmar want to explore global education and prefer to study abroad. He added that Myanmar shares close relations with many countries including UK, Singapore, Australia and US and Myanmarese students have been going to these countries to receive higher and technical education but now,India is also one of the preferred education destinations for the students,hence, the Government of Myanmar is willing for association with Indian Universities. Mr. Sai invited a delegation from Amity to visit Myanmar and proposed Amity to invest in education sector in Myanmar.
During the discussion, Mr. Chauhan proposed potential areas of collaboration including student exchange program, 3 Continent Program, Joint Research Program and establishing campus at Myanmar. The delegation expressed their willingness for collaboration in various fields including, trade, connectivity, infrastructure and education.
During the visit, the delegation was taken for a virtual round of the campus including IT Lab, Central Library, Amity Directorate of Online Education and Amity Innovation Incubator.
