3rd International Conference on Information Technology (INCITE-2023) commences at Amity

 

Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida,  in Academic Partnership with Centre for Information Technology and National Development, University of Cape town, South Africa, Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems Laboratory, University of Melbourne, Australia, Centre for Intelligent Autonomous Manufacturing Systems, Queen’s University Belfast, UK, Lawrence Technological University, USA and University of Pretoria, South Africa, organized the 3rd International Conference on Information Technology  (InCITe-2023), ”, from 2nd - 3rd March, 2023, on the theme, "Decision Intelligence : Transform Your World”.

 

On this occasion, Honorary Professorship was conferred upon Dr. Sean McLoone, Director, Centre for Intelligent and Autonomous Manufacturing Systems, Queen's University Belfast, UK.

Delivering his acceptance speech, Dr. McLoone said, “It is a great honour for me to be conferred upon Honorary Professorship by Amity. I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with the students of Amity and support and encourage them at every step. Automated Vehicles and Robotics are game-changers in the field of technology and the Conference will provide great insights into various aspects of Information Technology, thereby shaping the future of the students.”

Speaking on the occasion in online mode, Dr. Roger B. Dannenberg, Professor Emeritus of Computer Science, Art & Music, Carnegie Mellon University, USA, said, “Information technology has transformed the world drastically. I work as a music teacher and Computer Science has created a huge impact even in the field of music. Today, content generation is automated, and new technologies are emerging rapidly, therefore, the world needs tech-savvy leaders who can develop new technologies, thereby making a remarkable contribution in the field of science and technology.” 

Prof. (Dr.) Jean-Paul Van Belle Professor, Centre for IT and National Development in Africa, University of Cape Town, South Africa, stated, “The theme of the Conference is extremely relevant in the current scenario since decision-making is crucial whether it’s about choosing a course or a job since every decision has a long-term impact on our life. Therefore, students must be extra careful in making big decisions and constantly develop their skills and follow their passion so that they can excel in their respective field.”

Sharing Words of Wisdom and encouraging the students of Amity, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group, said, “Amity has only one aim and mission and that is to make every student a great success story. It is a matter of extreme pride and pleasure to see Amity Alumni working with renowned corporates and multi-nationals across the world and making their country proud. Amity aspires to be the number one institution in the field of Artificial Intelligence, and it is with this vision in mind that a “Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence” and a “Club for Aspirational Budding Engineers” will be established soon at Amity.”

 

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rajiv Saraiya, Vice President, Coforge, India, asserted, “I have had a long association with Amity and I’m happy to share my learning and knowledge with the students present here today. There is a gap between the education system and the industry which must be bridged by the industry and the academia and providing practical training and experience to the students. It is also crucial to see what outcomes we are expecting to make the world a better place to live in.”

 

Highlighting the significance of the Conference, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Decision-making plays a very important role in the success of every business. With industry 5.0, disruptive technologies have emerged, which are essential for the growth and sustainability of the entire world. Apart from classroom education, Amity emphasizes upon providing global exposure to its students and Amity Alumni are flourishing in their careers, across the world, through the learning and education which they received along with human values and ethics inculcated in them by Amity.”

 

During the Inaugural Session, “Amity Alumni Young IT Achiever Awards” were presented to Ms. Akanksha Jain and Mr. Mohit Buddhiraja and “InCITe- 2023” Proceedings was released. Also present on the occasion were Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation, Dr. Abhay Bansal, Jt. Head, Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Dr. Manoj Pandey, Jt. Head, Amity School of Engineering & Technology Dr. Nitasha Hasteer, Head - Department of Information Technology, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Deepti Mehrotra, Head-Accreditation, Ranking & Quality Assurance, Amity School of Engineering & Technology.

 

During the two-day Conference, various sessions on “Women in Engineering: Your Innovative Journey as Woman Technocrat”, “Generative AI – status, issues, quo vadis”, “Decision Intelligence and Data Science – I”, “People Powered Artificial Intelligence – Challenges and opportunities in navigating the ethical landscape of responsible innovation”, “Problems of AI Hardware”, “Federated Learning for Data Privacy” and other relevant topics will also be conducted along with the presentation of more than 500 Research Papers.
