Amity Business School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus, organized the 8th Global Leadership Research Conference (GLRC 2023) on the theme “Architecting New Tenets for Future of Business”, from 13th – 15th March 2023.
Addressing the gathering during the Inaugural Session, Mr. Anmol Sovit, Chairperson, Y20 India, averred, “Youth is the key to the development of a nation and the power of India lies in its youth. India is walking on the path form “Amrit Kaal” to Swarnim Kaaal” and it is the youth who can bring a revolutionary transformation in the country. It is extremely crucial to take care of our mental health along with physical health and lead a balanced life.” He also urged the students to remain "Swasth, Mast and Vyast " (healthy, happy, and enterprising), so that they can contribute to the economic development of the country.
Speaking about the future of the Healthcare Sector, Dr. Karan Thakur, Group Lead- Sustainability and ESG and Vice President- Public Affairs, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., stated, “The average life expectancy has increased to 70 years in recent years and the future of healthcare depends upon how people respond to critical situations like the pandemic. The healthcare sector will further develop through the advancement of technology, primarily through Artificial Intelligence.”
Sharing the Mantras of becoming a successful entrepreneur, Guest of Honour, Mr. George Angelo, CEO, Bisleri International stated, “The key tenets of our business at Bisleri include innovation, inclusiveness, sustainability, collaboration and engagement. It is also essential to create opportunities for all, follow transparency in business, embrace diversity and take initiatives for the betterment of workforce and employees.”
Sharing his words of wisdom, Dr. Ashok Kumar Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, said, “This is a historic conference where students are getting the golden opportunity to listen to the stalwarts of the corporate world and take inspiration from them. The government is providing a lot of support to start-ups and at Amity, students are always encouraged to become self-reliant by starting their own ventures and becoming entrepreneurs who can contribute to the development of the country. The day is not far when India will become a Global Superpower and the world’s largest economy, looking at its fast pace of development.” He called upon the students to dream big and aspire to become the best in their field.
Ms. Vishakha Yaduvanshi, Director, Ministry of External Affairs (MoEA), Govt. of India said, “The world order is changing with the rise of geopolitical issues. Digital transformation is the reality of today and it is commendable how India has adjusted to the global dynamics, focusing on human centric development. It is heartening to see that India is aspiring to become a developed nation by becoming self-reliant and digitally advanced.”
Addressing the gathering during the “Session in Focus on Women in Leadership” Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation & Amity School of Film and Drama, stated, “We have come a long way when it comes to women empowerment and there has been a remarkable upliftment of women in the society in the last few decades. Earlier, the focus used to be literacy and education of women but now the focus has shifted to other pertinent issues related to women such as financial and digital literacy, which shows that good progress has been made in the last few years. However, there are still underlying issues which need to be addressed but the future seems to be bright.”
Highlighting the significance of imbibing the teachings of “Bhagvad Gita”, Dr. Meena Mahajan, Founder of Siddhi Foundation powered by Humanity, said, “If we imbibe the teachings of “Bhagvad Gita” in our lives, we will be able to go through all hardships in life without getting mentally disturbed. “Dharma” does not refer to religion, but it is the act of fulfilling your responsibilities and performing your duties with complete sincerity and dedication. The younger generation needs to be more aware of the ancient scriptures and learn from their teachings.”
Sharing her views on “Women Leadership”, Dr. Rachna Yaduvanshi, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Agra, said, “Women are already empowered and have been great leaders since ancient days. Our grandmothers were not educated yet they were great leaders and led the entire family and fulfilled all their responsibilities very well. The government sector is sensitized towards women and offers them maternity leaves, paid leaves and other compensations; however, the corporate sector still needs to be sensitized more towards women so that they can work in a conducive and supportive environment in the corporate sector.”
Introducing the theme of the Conference, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dean FMS and Director, Amity Business School, said, “The Conference is being organized with the aim to bridge the gap between the industry and academia and provide corporate exposure to the students. Today, India is the fifth largest economy in the world and is scaling new heights under the visionary leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. The presidency of G-20 Summit is another feather in its cap which has brought India immense recognition globally.”
The Conference comprised of five Forums and Functional Area Tracks including Operations & Quality Forum, Marketing Forum, Leadership Forum, Finance Forum and HR Forum. More than 200 research Papers were presented during the conference and Technical Sessions on various topics such as “Developing Ethical Leaders and Its Impact on Business Organisation”, “Improvement at the boundaries of Organisation Behaviour and Turnover Intentions”, “Emotional Intelligence: A Study of Demographics of Budding Managers During Covid-19 Pandemic”, “Influence of Artificial Intelligence on Employees’ job satisfaction and Performance”, “Technological Advancement and its Intervention in the Healthcare Industry for Better Services” and “A conceptual study on perspectives of Dual employment and Moonlighting amongst Companies in India”, were also conducted, in addition to the cultural programmes organized by the students.
