A High -level Delegation from CIMEA-NARIC, Italy, visits Amity University

 

A five-member, high-level Delegation from CIMEA-NARIC, an organization responsible for the credit evaluation of foreign qualifications from Italy, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus, to explore opportunities of future collaborations and to promote the Indian Education System. The Delegation comprised of Dr. Chiara Finocchietti – Director of CIMEA - NARIC-Italia, Ms. Serena Spitalieri – Head of Information and Evaluation Services at CIMEA - NARIC-Italia, Ms. Marina Malgina – Head of Global Engagement Unit at CIMEA – NARIC-Italia, Ms. Ana Andrea Pop - Senior Credential Evaluator at CIMEA – NARIC-Italia and Mr. Allan Frank Garner - Senior Credential Evaluator at CIMEA – NARIC-Italia.

Highlighting the purpose of the visit, Dr. Chiara Finocchietti, Director, CIMEA-NARIC, averred, “Since the year 1984, CIMEA - Information Center on Academic Mobility and Equivalences has been carrying out its information and consultancy activity on the procedures for recognizing qualifications and on issues connected to Italian and international higher education and training. The main objective of CIMEA is to promote academic mobility in all its areas, facilitating the understanding of the elements of the Italian system, foreign higher education and training systems and promoting the principles of the Lisbon Convention on the recognition of qualifications. The visit will enable us to understand the Higher Education System and will be a great collaborative learning exercise for us.”

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kuldeep Dagar, Deputy Secretary (Evaluation & International Divisions), Association of Indian Universities, said, “This is the right time for the visit of the delegation since NEP 2020 has been enforced by Higher Education Institutions in India. This is an opportunity for the delegation to attain knowledge about the education system of India and there is no better University than Amity to provide them with first-hand knowledge about how higher education institutions work in India.”

Welcoming the guests on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “Amity strongly believes in providing global exposure to its student through various programmes including Student Mobility Programmes, Dual Degrees, Twinning Degrees and many others. 40% of the alumni of Amity is working in different countries across the globe, with some of the leading corporates and Accreditations help Amity to send students to countries like US, UK, Canada, Australia and many other countries for enhancing their knowledge and attaining world class education.”

On this occasion, presentations on various topics including “Research Initiatives and Endeavours of Amity University” Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kumar Khatri, “About Amity Academic System” by Prof. R K Kapur, Offg. Registrar and Director (Academics), “Internationalisation” by Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Bansal, Joint Head, ASET, “Students Support Services for International Students” by Prof. (Dr.) Marshal Sahani, Dean Student Welfare, were also made for the guests, in order to provide them with a holistic perspective about Amity University.

The visit concluded with a round of discussions with the HOIs of Amity about the potential areas of collaboration and a Campus Tour of Amity by the delegation.
