  • Projects

IDENTIFICATION OF MEDICINAL PANTS EFFECTIVE AGAINST Vibrio cholerae STRAINS THAT ARE PREVAILING IN N(External - DBT)
In this proposed project we have identified medicinal plants that are effective against clinical strains of North East Region (NER). We have purified the bioactive component(s).This information can eventually lead to development of new cost effective drugs against infection caused by Vibrio cholerae. by (DBT)

Identification of Bioactive Compound from Medicinal Plants Effective Against Multi-drug Resistant Es(NEIST; CSIR)
In this proposed project the traditional knowledge of people of North-East India as well as published literature were exploited to identify medicinal plant(s) effective against multi-drug resistant E.coli. Subsequent to the identification of the plant(s), antioxidant property of the bioactive molecule(s) were checked and were purified, characterized and structure of the bioactive molecule was elucidated. This information can eventually lead to development of new cost effective and plant deriveby (DBT)

IDENTIFICATION AND PARTIAL PURIFICATION OF MEDICINAL PLANT EXTRACT EFFECTIVE AGAINST Helicobacter py(AIB)
Combination therapy in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection has generated a considerable interest in the study of medicinal plants as potential source of new drugs against this organism. The high complexity of bioactive compounds from plants coupled with their broad antimicrobial activity may make it difficult for pathogenic organisms, including H. pylori to acquire resistance during treatment (Cowan, 1999). It has also been reported that plant polyphenols are an important class of deby (CSIR)
