Presence of trans plasma membrane electron transport (TPMET) activity in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and other eukaryotic cells has been shown by reduction of membrane impermeable exogenous electron acceptor e.g. Hexacynoferrate [HCF(III)], (Misra P.C. 1991, Dutta G and Bera T,2002). The intracellular NADH has been established to the major supplier of electrons under these conditions (Revis and Misra 1988).
