Over 4000 successfully qualified graduands of Science, Engineering & Technology Domain including Life Sciences and Biotechnology Domain (Class 2019) received their degrees, diplomas and certificates during the second day of “Convocation 2019” held at Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Sector-125, Noida.
During the second day of majestic occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS-Delhi; Mr. Arnab Ranjan Goswami, Managing Director, Republic TV and Mr. Sameer Maheshwari, Founder & CEO, Healthkart were awarded Honorary Doctorate Degrees by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President Sir, Amity Group of Institutions; Dr. Atul Chauhan-Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh and Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice- Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.
Blessings the Graduands, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group of Institutions said that it is the efforts of parents along with the hard work of students that have helped their ward reach the goal on their educational journey. He mentioned that Amity nurtures students to be global professionals, future leaders and most importantly, to create good human beings, by imbibing human values, ethics and behavioral science; who will not only reach pinnacle of success but will also work towards development of society. Sharing the mantra of success, Dr. Chauhan said that one must always follow the mantra of "BHAAG" which is an acronym of Behavioral Science, Hard Work, Attitude, Ambition and faith in God which will lead the person towards reaching the goal. He pointed out, "we are living in a glorious time, soon we will witness India becoming the Global Superpower. This would be possible by collaborative efforts of every individual of the country as there is no comparison of Indian brains in the world."
Expressing his gratitude for bestowing the honorary causa in Science upon him, Prof. (Dr.) Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS said that it is an humbling experience and commended the vision of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan for making Amity Education Group as one of the leading in country and at par on International level, as well. He exclaimed that the education scenario is changing rapidly, with easy access to infinite knowledge. It has become a challenge to utilize the vast knowledge for betterment of society and mankind. As the graduands embark on a new journey, Dr. Guleria advised them to have a vision, humility and faith in god. He asked them to always remember their roots, no matter where they are or how successful they become.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Arnab Ranjan Goswami, Managing Director, Republic TV said, “I am honored and overwhelmed to receive the honorary doctorate in Philosophy from such a prestigious university.” Addressing the graduands, he shared some unsolicited advice with them and mentioned that presently, we are living in magnificent and historic era as the gap between the countries have reduced. He encouraged the graduands to have a global vision and utilize the time in seeking global opportunities. Echoing the thoughts of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Dr. Goswami exclaimed that with India witnessing significant transformation, the time is not far when we are going to be world’s greatest superpower. He further advised to maintain integrity in both professional & personal growth and warned not to seek shortcuts in life but choose the difficult path as it is the right one. He called upon the graduands to take risks in life and always remember those who have been there to support them.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sameer Maheshwari, Founder & CEO, Healthkart congratulated the graduands and said that today is a momentous occasion to celebrate their hard work. Sharing his message, he averred that there is only one life and a person must make it count, without any regrets. He further narrated his professional journey from working in a corporate to invest banker to being an entrepreneur. He apprised that the transformation as an entrepreneur was not easy and he had go through lot of challenges and adversities to make it big in the market. Dr. Maheshwari emphasized that entrepreneurship is a risky business but there is an utmost satisfaction in working towards an idea that solves the societal problem and touches the lives of millions. He motivated the graduands to pursue their dreams with great obstinacy and relentless spirit.
On the occasion, Dr. Vinay Kumar Vidyalankar, Professor, Sanskrit Vibhag, MB Govt. P.G. College, Haldwani, Nainital, Uttarakhand was conferred with Honorary Professorship.
Accepting the professorship, Dr. Vinay Kumar lauded Amity for reforming Sanskrit in today’s era, Amity is promoting Sanskriti i.e values amongst today’s generation.
Highlighting the pioneering achievements of Amity University in last academic year, Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said that Amity has been rewriting and reshaping the educational benchmark under the able guidance of Founder President and Chancellor AUUP. She remarked that Amity has a global footprint visions in which soon there will be an Amity University in every state of the country and a campus in every country across the globe. She apprised about the latest abroad campus being established at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Dr. Shukla called upon the Graduands to go forth and keep the Amity flag high as they are the brand ambassadors of their Alma mater. She opined that it is the combination of professional excellence, personal experience and social consciousness that will make your way to success.
During the second day, 75 Gold Medals, 77 Silver Medals, 36 Bronze Medals and 90 PhDs were awarded to the meritorious students.
