The Planning Board

The Planning Board is the principal planning body of the university.

A. The Composition of the Planning Board, the principal planning body of the University, shall be

  • Nominee of the Foundation  Chairperson
  • The Vice-Chancellor
  • The Pro-Vice-Chancellor
  • Three Heads of Departments/Institutions/School/Colleges/ Centres by Rotation in order of Seniority
  • Two representatives of the Foundation
  • Treasures
  • The Registrar
  • Dean, Development & Planning – Member Secretary

The tenure of the members of the Planning Board, other than that of the ex-officio members, shall be three years.

B. The powers and duties of the Planning Board shall be as follows:

  • Two prepare perspective plan for development and growth of the University
  • To make an assessment of the academic support facilities and the infrastructure of the University to ensure that the University attains and sustains the highest possible academic standards.
  • To suggest ways and means to generate resources and mobilize them for their optimal utilization.

C. The tenure of the members of the Planning Board, other than that of the ex-officio members, shall be three years.

E. Meeting

  • The Planning Board shall normally meet once in a years. A notice for the meeting of the Board shall be given so as to reach the members at least three weeks in advance of the meeting and the agenda papers shall be issued ten days before the meeting.
  • In the absence of the Chairperson, Vice-Chancellor shall preside at the meeting of the Board.
  • Quorum -One half of the members of the Board including the Chairperson shall constitute the quorum at a meeting.
  • Transaction of Business -In arriving at a decision, if voting becomes necessary, it shall be done in a manner to be decided by the Chairperson. In case of a tie, the Chairperson shall have a second casting vote.
