189 Scholars enroll for Ph.D Programme at Amity University

 Amity University organized the Registration Cum Orientation Programme for Ph.D scholars of January 2024 Batch on 9th & 10th February, 2024, wherein a total of 189 scholars enrolled for the PhD. Programme, including 94 male scholars and 125 female scholars, in areas including Management, Biotechnology, Click Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Food Technology, Molecular Medicine, Nano Technology, Anthropolgy, Aero Space Engineering, Organic Agriculture, Law, English Studies and Research, amongst others. The Orientation Programme commenced with a sacred “Havan” performed by Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, in the presence of the head of institutions, senior faculty members and research scholars.


Addressing the PhD. Scholars, Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Amity has always believed in imbibing human and cultural values, and it is the strong belief of Amity that all the important occasions at Amity must commence by conducting a havan and seeking the blessings of the Almighty. The Research Scholars must work on their time management skills and dedicate ample time to their research thoroughly. Also, they must bear in mind the area of research which they select, as it must have a societal impact and contribute to the development of our country.

 

Advising the researchers, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), said, “Research and innovation is the key focus area through which one can contribute to nation building and change the world for the better. It is extremely crucial for the Research Scholars to choose a subject which is path-breaking and can lead India on the path of economic development. Sincerity, dedication, perseverance, and hard work are the key drivers for success in any field and the scholars must aim to choose the right subject for their research which can benefit the society at large.”.

 

Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor Amity Universities said, “Amity Universities strongly focusses on providing global exposure to the students including the research scholars. Research Scholars can take advantage of the opportunities provided to them in through Study Abroad programs, Twinning and Dual Degrees, which will help in developing new ideas and expanding their knowledge in the area of international research.”

 

During the two- day Programme, Ph.D. Regulations and Guidelines were introduced for the scholars along with presentations on topics such as ‘Examination Process, Scheme and Qualifying Criteria’ by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Bansal, Dean - FMS & Chairman - Examination Committee, ‘Interdisciplinary Research using Artificial Intelligence’ by Prof. (Dr.) M.K. Dutta, Dean - Students Research, and Director - Amity Centre for Artificial Intelligence. ‘Research, Innovation & Entrepreneurship by Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Dy. Director General - Amity Foundation for Science, Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA) and ‘Ethics in Research - Creating a Mindset for Pursuing Ethical Research’ by Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Kumar Bandyopadhyay, Chief Advisor - Founder President's Office & Chairman - Amity Law School. The Programme was attended by the research scholars and faculty of Amity University in large numbers and Dr. K.M. Soni, In-charge- PhD Department and Deputy Dean, Engineering and Technology, Amity University welcomed the guests on this occasion.
