Panel Discussion on Competency Development among Pre Service Teachers in Relation to Education 4.0

 Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Science organized a Panel Discussion on Competency Development among Pre Service Teachers in Relation to Education 4.0 on 19th Sept 2019 at F3 Seminar Hall. The objectives of the Panel Discussion were to generate awareness among the students for developing skills required for Education 4.0, to explore the emerging trends in teaching – learning in the present scenario and to promote innovative practice for building competency among teachers. The panelists were the principals of different schools of NCR. Speaking on the occasion, Head of the Institute Dr. Harish Kumar reiterated the need to keep abreast with the changing world. He elaborated on the need to fall in line with Education 4.0 which encourages non-traditional thinking and stressed on the uses of technology-based tools and resources to drive education in non-traditional ways.

 The first speaker of the panel discussion, Ms Heema Sharma ( Principal , K.R. Mangalam World School, Greater Noida), focused on 9 Trends of Edu 4.0 and explained  how Education 4.0 helps teachers to feel empowered and be better at their jobs, which in turn improves student learning outcomes. Ms. Manju Kaul ( Principal, Greater Noida World School, Greater Noida), highlighted on the development of 21st Century Learning Skills in the preservice teachers. Ms Kaul reaffirmed that the skills all double back to one key focus which is Someone’s ability to enact or adapt to change and said that industries are now regularly disrupted with new ideas and methodologies.

Dr. Renu Sehgal ( Principal , G D Goenka Public School, Greater Noida) spoke about Unlocking a world of Potential, and said new technologies help to work together and share ideas and insights in ways which were unimaginable a decade ago. Ms. Deepa Bhatt ( Principal, Noida Educational Academy , Noida) spoke about the Principles of Learning /Teaching and said an active, inquiry approach to learning fosters enjoyment, engagement and responsibility, and students develop the skills of independent, creative, critical and self-reflective life-long learners. Ms. Mehar Afshan (Vice Principal, Greater Noida World School, Greater Noida). spoke about the Teaching in Digital Age to keep oneself updated. She discussed the strategies to deal with children in the classroom and highlighted the importance of experiential learning. The panel discussion concluded with a deliberation on the topic Competency Development among Pre Service Teachers in Relation to Education 4.0. The program witnessed active participation of the prospective teachers.
