Amity School of Natural Resources & Sustainable Development (ASNRSD) & Amity Business School (ABS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, AUUP, Noida Campus are conducting IFS Training Course on "Effective Leadership & Conflict Management," for Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers, from 10th-14th November, 2025. A total of 18 Senior IFS Officers from 14 states across the country, are participating in the programme.
The objective of the Program is to develop the understanding of effective leadership and conflict management for enhanced decision-making amongst the participants and enhance their knowledge.
Inaugurating the Training Program, Guest of Honour, Ambassador A.K. Mudgal, IFS (Retd.), Former High Commissioner, Mauritius, averred, “There is always an element of conflict in every aspect of life since there are several perspectives to a given situation. Therefore, resolving the conflicts amicably by respecting the differences is the key to effective leadership. One must not be competitive but generous during conflict resolution since conflicts have been hard wired in human evolution since centuries. At present, the biggest threat to the environment is climate change and we all are very well aware of how it is impacting our environment. The ultimate goal is to achieve environment sustainability and aim for a clean and green planet.”
Highlighting the significance of “Effective Leadership”, Mr. Anand Mohan, Additional Director General of Forest and CEO, Compensatory Afforestation Fund management and Planning Authority (CAMPA), Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, stated, “Effective leadership is not about authority, it is about mentoring and guiding a team and leading them on a path of growth and development. While resolving conflicts, one develops their own leadership skills and enhances their own understanding and knowledge. One must take into consideration the views of their seniors and learn from them to effectively resolve a conflict. Our country is moving fast on the path of development and in such a scenario, the resolution of conflict must be collaborative.”
Addressing the participants, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “When people work together in organizations, conflicts are bound to happen. In the case of our environment, the resources are depleting year after year, and climate and non-climate factors are likely to intensify these conflicts in the coming years. Therefore, we must align our goal with the vision of Viksit Bharat and pay attention to our natural resources. Forest officers need to address the environmental challenges effectively and they must ensure that organizations remain adaptable through constant learning and innovation.”
Dr. S.P. Singh Director, Amity School of Natural Resources & Sustainable Development (ASNRSD), said, “The Training Program will be highly beneficial of the IFS officers since they will be able to enhance their learning and knowledge about effective leadership and conflict resolution.
