Inauguration of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy Facility at Amity University

Amity Institute of Click Chemistry Research and Studies (AICCRS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus organized an “International Symposium on Bioinorganic Chemistry: Structure, Function, and Applications” (ISBIC-2025), aimed to advance the frontiers of Science, by the intersection of Biology and Inorganic Chemistry. The Symposium was followed by the inauguration of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy Facility at AICCRS.

Sharing his words of wisdom, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group, averred, “Amity is a research and innovation driven University. To achieve the goal of ViksitBharat@2047, we need advanced technologies and innovations which can play a significant role in the country’s development. Amity’s Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy Facility will contribute immensely to the research ecosystem and will help the researchers and scientist of Amity in carrying out path-breaking research.”

Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President - Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), stated, “The new Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy facility will help in catalysing the translation of fundamental discoveries into innovative applications that address global challenges in the areas of health, energy and environment. The facility will be immensely beneficial for researchers in the areas of Drug Discovery, Medical Imaging, Materials Science and studying molecular dynamics and chemical reactions.”

Dr. Monalisa Mukherjee, Director, AICCRS, said, “We are extremely delighted to launch Bruker 400 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy Facility, at Amity Institute of Click Chemistry Research & Studies, which will be helpful for research in fields like biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and materials science.”

Also present during the Inauguration were the Deans, HOIs, researchers, and scientists of Amity. During the Symposium, Keynote Lectures on topics such as “Antiaromatic Sapphyrin Isomer: Transformation into Contracted Porphyrinoids with Variable Aromaticity” by Prof. Hiroyuki Furuta, Kyushu University, Japan, “Unusually Stable Synthetic Diheme bis-Fe (IV)oxo: An Intermediate in Diheme Enzymes MauG and BthA” by Prof. Sankar Prasad Rath, Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur, “Discovery of Pharmaceutical Cocrystals in Chlorpropamide”, by Prof. Deepak Chopra, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, were conducted and an Abstract was also released.
