Centre of Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) & Amity explore the areas of Academic and Research collaboration

Delegates from Centre of Development of Advanced Computing(C-DAC) including Mr. Arvind Kumar, Senior Advisor, Mr. Jitendra Singh, Scientist G and Head, CDAC accompanied by senior Scientists- Mr. Apoorva Kohli, Scientist E, Mr. Anurag Rajput, Scientist D and Ms. Richa Choudhary, Faculty & Course Counsellor, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus with the aim to discuss opportunities of collaboration in the areas joint innovation, technology uptake, and capacity building in emerging technologies.

 

Addressing the scientists and researchers of Amity, Mr. Arvind Kumar, Senior Advisor C-DAC, averred, “Amity is a highly reputed and recognized institution across the world. We are here to deliberate and discuss the various opportunities for partnership in different areas which will be mutually beneficial for both CDAC as well as Amity. Various missions of the government are being driven by CDAC specially in the areas of research, capacity-building and the organization has been largely associated with leading institutions such as IITs and other government funded institutions. We would also like to propose an MoU with Amity which can be customised as per the requirements of the industry and academia and would also like Amity to add their insights for the proposed MoU.”

 

Speaking about the collaboration, Mr. Jitendra Singh, Scientist G and Head, C-DAC, opined, “Our collaboration with Amity will help in boosting indigenous tech capability, opening funding avenues from MEITY, DST, and private investors and enhancing employability for Amity graduates through hands-on exposure to cutting-edge C-DAC technologies. The partnership will enable to translate research into market-ready products, cutting -edge technologies and innovations.”

 

Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President- Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation, stated, “Amity is delighted to welcome the scientists from CDAC and would like to collaborate with them in the areas of internship projects for students, project funding, faculty development and many others. Amity’s aim is to prepare future global citizens who can contribute to the development of the country through research and innovation. We are certain that many fruitful collaborations and new opportunities will come out of this important meeting.” 

 

Dr. B. K. Murthy, Dean (Translational Research, and Entrepreneurship Development) Science, Engineering and Technology, Amity University, said, “The aim of the visit is to hold strategic discussion to explore avenues for joint R&D collaboration in high performance computing (HPC), Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, IoT, Semiconductor and Device Technologies, e-Governance, and allied areas. It will also explore planning of training and capacity-building programmes, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), lab infrastructure support, certification pathways, identification of joint academic initiatives, internships, and industry–academia engagement models.”

Singh, Senior Vice President Amity Foundation for Science Technology and Innovation Alliance (AFSTIA), Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Deputy Director General, DG, AFSTIA, HOIs, scientists and researchers of Amity.
