“Research must benefit the society”, say experts during 6th Doctoral Research Conclave at Amity

6th Doctoral Research Conclave

 

Amity Business School organized 6th Doctoral Research Conclave on the theme “Intelligence, Innovation and Impact Driven Research for a Sustainable Tomorrow”.

 

Deliberating upon research in Agriculture, Chief Guest, Shri Deepak Agarwal, Managing Director, NAFED, averred, “Transformation through technology, innovation and collective strength is an experience in agriculture. Farmers are strategic thinkers and women are powerful drivers of change. The youth is emerging as rural leaders as technology expands access and sustainability grows from community action. Therefore, the need of the hour is to empower farmers with tools, markets, and knowledge, thereby creating leaders, entrepreneurs, resilient communities and together build a future where every farmer’s story inspires each one of us.”

 

Guest of Honour Dr Jyoti Sharma, Scientist, International Co-operation Division, Ministry of Science and Technology, stated, “There are a large number of tech graduates today, however, they lack in skill sets. Research should be able to fill the existing gap between the industry and academia, and researchers should choose the research topics not only from the perspective of publication but also keeping in mind the industry requirements. Technology and innovation is not only used in science domain but it is interdisciplinary and is being used in all domains including management. Researchers are responsible for building the foundation of India’s future, therefore, they must convert their thoughts into products for sustainable and inclusive growth. India is taking the lead in innovation, and the future belongs to India therefore, there is a need for intelligence, innovation and impact -driven research.”

 

Dr. Sunil Luthra, Director, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, asserted, “New technologies must be used for fast-decision making and research should be impactful and create value for the people.”

Sharing a few tips for researchers, he further added, “Be patient since good research takes time. Keep persevering, be curious, maintain integrity, always collaborate, use your time wisely, pay attention to your body and mind, and maintain work-life balance.”  

 

Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Research should be done for the benefit of the society. Innovation is very important in the era of AI since AI is going to change the landscape of research. Therefore, innovative and impactful research can transform the world and improve the lives of people.”

 

Mr. Vaibhav Singh, Portfolio Test Lead, Bank of Ireland, Dublin, opined, “Leaders should motivate their teams and acknowledge their work so that their teams work harder and become more productive. Also, embracing technology is essential in today’s rapidly evolving world and if you keep yourself updated, you will succeed and achieve greater heights.”

 

Highlighting the significance and meaning of Research Prof. (Dr.) Bhudev C. Das, Chairman, University Research Council, AUUP, stated, “Research is discovery through knowledge and research work involves deep thinking whereby you create new ideas and find novel solutions to the problems of the real world. Knowledge and research bring name, fame and wealth, thereby leading to the prosperity of the society.”

 

During the Conclave, a Panel Discussion on “Intelligence to Impact: Designing Purpose-Driven Organizations” was also organized wherein experts including Ms. Neha Singh, Director Iris Software Noida, Dr. Shalini Singh, Senior Vice President- Leadership Learning & Talent, National Australia Bank, Gurugram, Mr. Vivek Yadav, Executive Vice President and Business Head, Havells India and Ms. Pallavi Sinha, Advocate Supreme Court, New Delhi participated. along with sessions on “Research Progress and the Road Ahead: A Dialogue with Guides”, and “Ideas in Transition: From Proposal to Contribution”.
