Amity University and The University of Texas, Dallas, explore collaboration opportunities in the areas of Engineering and Management

Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh K. Bhatia, Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of Texas, Dallas felicitated by Amity Group Vice Chancellor Dr Gurinder Singh

 

A delegation from The University of Texas Dallas, USA, comprising of Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh K. Bhatia, Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, Associate Director University of Texas Dallas Asia, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. The aim of the visit was to explore the potential opportunities and avenues for collaboration in the field of engineering and management.

 

Expressing pleasure on partnering with Amity University, Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh K. Bhatia, Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Texas, averred, “The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) is a leading Public Research University known for its strong focus on science, engineering, business and technology. We would be glad to partner with Amity University through 4+1 model, under which the UG students of Amity can opt for 1 year Post Graduate Program from The University of Texas. We are also interested in other collaborative models of Amity such as Dual Degree Programs, Study Abroad Programs and others, which will foster a mutually beneficial association between the two Universities. We are excited about the partnership which will lead to the advancement of research and education, address pressing global challenges and make a positive impact in the world.”

 

Addressing the students during a Masterclass on the topic, “Global Opportunities”, Prof. Bhatia said, “Developing skills for a global workforce is very important for the students so that they can adapt to different work environments. Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science offers various programs in advanced manufacturing, energy science and technology, health innovation, semiconductor science and technology. Engineering students can choose any field of their interest and carry out their research work, which can help in addressing the existing challenges of the real world.”

 

Highlighting the areas of collaboration, Prof (Dr) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities stated, “Amity and The University of Texas Dallas share the same vision, values and philosophy of providing holistic education to the students, thereby making students’ success and happiness a priority. Amity is an inter-disciplinary University, and we have integrated technology into management programs so as to equip the students with the latest technology and skills. We also work very closely with industry bodies such as FICCI, CII and have designed several joint programmes with them for the students. We would like to collaborate with The University of Texas, through Three-continent Programmes, India Immersion Programmes, and Internship Programmes, which will be highly beneficial for the students of both institutions. The partnership marks the beginning of a fruitful association which will go a long way in strengthening our efforts to globalize education, drive innovation and create meaningful solutions."

 

The Delegation also took a round of the Amity campus and visited Amity Innovation Incubator, Central Library and high-tech laboratories.
