Dr. Diana Daczi, Counsellor for Science and Technology, Embassy of Hungary felicitated byDr Sunita Ratan at Amity

Dr. Diana Daczi, Counsellor for Science and Technology at the Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi, visited Amity University, Noida, to explore avenues for collaboration with premier Hungarian research and development organizations and universities. The visit aimed at fostering long-term partnerships in cutting-edge and socially relevant domains including Space Science and Technology, Health and Allied Sciences, Green Energy, Water Management, and Defence and Security, thereby providing a platform for in-depth discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.

Addressing the academic leadership at Amity, Dr. Daczi averred, “Hungary and India share a close and evolving association, particularly in the field of science and technology. We are now looking to further strengthen this partnership through structured research collaborations and institutional linkages. Hungary has consistently played a significant role in advancing global scientific innovation and continues to be a hub for high-quality research and education, by offering a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating environment for students and researchers. With key research focus areas such as Life Sciences and Health Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering and Industrial Technologies, which align closely with global research trends and offer immense potential for joint exploration.”

Emphasizing upon Bilateral Research Programmes, Dr. Daczi added, “The Bilateral Research Programmes support collaborative projects through funding mechanisms designed to generate innovative, market-oriented products and services. These programmes are implemented in collaboration with India’s Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and Hungary’s National Research, Development and Innovation Office. Spanning a duration of three years, these initiatives encourage joint research in priority areas such as biotechnology, information and communication technology (ICT), water resources, and sustainable energy solutions. Amity University must actively engage with Hungarian institutions to leverage these opportunities for academic exchange, joint research publications, and innovation-driven projects.”

Presenting an overview of Amity University’s robust research ecosystem, Dr. Sunita Rattan, Dean – Faculty of Science and Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh noted,Dr. Daczi’s visit marks an important step toward strengthening ties between Indian and Hungarian academic institutions and sets the stage for future collaborations that promise to drive impactful research and innovation on a global scale. Amity University aims to establish meaningful collaborations with Hungarian institutions through a range of academic initiatives, including campus-in-campus models, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, joint semester exchange programmes, and scholarship opportunities for students and researchers. Additionally, we propose the establishment of an Indo-Hungarian Centre at Amity University, which would serve as a dedicated hub for fostering research, innovation, and cultural exchange between the two countries. Such collaborations would not only enhance academic excellence but also provide students and researchers with global exposure, access to advanced research infrastructure, and opportunities to work on projects of international significance.”

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to deepen Indo-Hungarian cooperation in higher education, research, and innovation by building a strong, sustainable partnership that would contribute to knowledge exchange, technological advancement, and capacity building in emerging and critical sectors.
