    Effective decomposition of Organic waste in Military areas with emphasis on kitchen waste using Micr(DRL, Tezpur)
    The major objective of the project was to use the microbial consortium available and rediscover more microorganisms that can be used for the safe decomposition of the wastes, kitchen scraps, as well as that yields byproducts that can be used in agriculture, horticulture, organic farming, etc. We have different microbial strains (40 protease, 35 amylase, 52 lipase, 37 FPase and CMCase, 34 xylanase producers) having capabilities to degrade protein, oil and fats, amylose, cellulose and hemicellulby (DRDO)

    ARDRA based simple identification protocol for distinguishing Bacillus and Bacillus related genera.(DRDE, Gwalior)
    This project is to explore the extremely rich microbial diversity of the Indian subcontinent with an aim to develop molecular probes based on Amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis (ARDRA) for identification of Bacillus and Bacillus-related genera amongst the various Gram positive spore formers used industrially. by (DRDE)

    Application of Micro-organisms for biodegradation of explosives & related compounds(CFEES, DRDO)
    To develop a process of decontaminating the nitro-substituted compounds TNT, HMX and RDX contaminants by converting the contaminants into harmless materials thereby decontaminating the soil to either partial decontamination or complete remediation. In our lab we have formulated more than ten consortiums with promising explosive degradation capabilities. Introduction of allochthonous microorganisms in natural environment for the purpose of increasing the rate or extent or both of degradation of by (DRDO)

    Feather Waste Management using Microbial Enzymes(MoEF)
    Feather waste is utilized on a limited basis as a dietary protein supplement for animal feedstuffs. These processes, in addition to being energy intensive, results in the loss of some essential amino acids. Moreover, the feather meal thus produced has been found to be poorly digestible by animals. This project is very important to improve feather digestibility by microbial proteolytic systems for hydrolysis of feather to soluble proteins and amino acids.
